Building Forensics Building forensics is the science of evaluating the cause and extent of building failures. We recognize that 'failure' is the antithesis of durability, or the capability of a building, or its parts, to perform its required function over a specified period of time under the influence of the agents anticipated in services. Our forensic services focus on structural and environmental problems due to design & construction defects, material defects, building envelope failures, moisture intrusion, excess humidity, HVAC and plumbing failures, ventilation inadequacies, and natural disasters. Forensic analysis can be integrated at any phase of investigation, from initial discovery to project scoping and remediation. Building forensics also characterizes damages, a process also known as damage assessment. We employ state-of-the-art analysis to determine the distribution and severity of current damages. We also imminent damages as a function of the mechanisms of cause, current conditions, and expected service life.
